kk will look into it

TB problem is fixed (for now, i will be looking into a less destructive fix). ----> note this only occured when you ran favormod with both skirmish ai, Uberfix, and skirmish ai. Vanilla favormod was not affected .

Venom stone has been changed:

[15]% Chance on Hit of Causing 2% damage each second for [5] seconds. During this time, whenever an enemy demigod takes damage, their minions will as well'

Aura: Radius 10          #####(was 5)

MoveMult = {Mult = 0.07},

 RateOfFire = {Mult = 0.07},

Removed

15 Weapon Damage

Despair Set

Adding mana gain to Ring of despair

Added a weapon proc to Despair Set Ability (ie when you have all 3)

This is another 15% proc to drain 200 mana and you gain 200 man

Added Mana gain to both mana drain occurences on Ring of Despair

Would it be possible to get an update sooner than later on this?  The tb issue was a bit crippling (eg not being able to use a dg reliably = bad and folks will be hesitant to use tb as long as this problem exists.

I don't think the buff is necessarily enough for venom stone - might even be a step towards nerfing it more, imo.  I like that it fires 15% of the time, but mathwise, if it only procs once, and we'll say the dg does 200 base damage (after armor mitigation), then that is 4 damage per sec for 5 seconds (for a total of 20 extra damage... which is next to nothing.  In fact, if we are only talking about it proc'ing 1 time in a combat (though it would likely be more), the 15 weapon damage would be more effective on a ub even if all we are talking about is 1 hit.  Anyway, most direct combats with a ub don't last that a substantial amount of time, so even with a 100% proc rate (eg every hit results in 2% dmg over 5 seconds) and assuming that each hit was really more like 200 dmg per hit... and we'll say the combat had 8 aa hits, then we are talking about 20 dmg x 8 hits = 160 bonus damage.  Even if we were talking about items that cause crazy dps (like ashkandor), if one 1,000 hp shot hit and this item proc'd, we are only talking about 20 dmg per second for 5 seconds... so, 100 extra damage.  Anyway, all that crap is to say that I think this needs more of a buff.  It sounds like alot, but what about changing it to causing 10% damage on each second for 5 seconds if its proc'd.  In reality, at 200 dps proc'ing once, that gives you 20 dps x 5 sec for a total of 100 dmg.  Still seems a little low, but definitely an improvement.  even then it still seems a little weak.

Update ^^ done

As for venom stone it works a bit differently to how you think.

Ok so you weapon proc ---> then applies 2 buffs two the unit

1. DOT which does 2% of the enemies health per second for 5 second (ie a demigod with 5000 health would lose 500) this is unmitgated by armor.

2. Parasite egg effect: makes all minions take damage from the DOT and also from all incoming damage to the demigod for 5 seconds.

ah - now I get you.  Ok then - that sounds swell :0

And I saw the parasite egg effect.  Good stuff.

And thanks for the quick update - I'll create an exe if you'd like to use that later today.  Really wish I could make an exe that un-installs the original and then installs the new version.... I'll prob look into that.  We tend to get some slowdown waiting to see if folks install the mods correctly, etc.

ty for doing .exe for me!

Also pls test out the Despair set agian if possible (ai doesnt get helms lol) cause the change was VERY significant. However, i think that it needed it due to the low impact the original 2 items had.

Ok some more skinning work/unit creation has been done:

ok - I'm testing out a different installer that will automatically uninstall previous versions of this mod and then install the newer version... should make things very simple for folks that are savy with dropping files in the right the place.  Need to do a little bit of testing, but then I'll post a link.

Instructions for the installer:

  • For the initial release of this installer, you need to manually delete any install of the FavorMod that you might have already made.  Just manually delete the favormod folder here:  C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock Games\Demigod\bindata\mods\FavorMod.
  • Download the installer:  http://www.box.net/shared/skhrpu5f2r
  • Execute the installer
  • You only need to enable the mod in the mod manager if you want to host a game using the mod; otherwise, its sufficient to just have the mod installed

The main benefit of this new installer is that as new updates are made, I can just update my installer package.  Going forward, users will only have run the installer and it will automatically uninstall the previous version of the mod for you - so basically, you download the new version, you execute the installer, you can play favormod.

you should update the tooltip for venom stone so its more clear that its taking 2% of max hp.

It looks like the speed buff ONLY works if the ability is proc'd... that what you intended?

December 8, 2010 7:34:44 PM from Demigod Forums Demigod Forums

nah - I'm not using inno.  Used that before.  Using advanced installer (freeware).  Just google it to find it.  Then I can walk you through how I'm using it.  Procedures kind of specific if you want to it uninstall older versions.

This is the updated description of venom stone:

Description = '<LOC ITEM_Achievement_0422>[GetWeaponProcChance]% Chance on Hit of Causing 2% enemys maximum health damage each second for [GetDuration] seconds. During this time, whenever an enemy demigod takes damage, their minions will as well',

Also did a log check on the aura, it is activating on equip

BTW, i really suck at writing tooltips (and hate it lol). So if you see one you would like changed can you be really specific with wording. I will very happily change them (cause i know their bad lol).

(oh btw i forgot to say gw with writing the uninstaller!!).

Update with new skins incoming

December 8, 2010 10:41:57 PM from Demigod Forums Demigod Forums

Took a look at your BuffAffects changes, and I don't think there's a whole lot that can be done about making them non-destructive - same with the ones in the UberFix.  Those functions use a lot of local variables, and don't return anything, which makes them pretty much impossible to hook non-destructively.  It's just a bad call on GPG's part - it was a neat idea to have each buff affect get its own function, but they should have structured it in such a way that it returned values and could be hooked.  Oh well.

I've got another small change to the Health buffaffect function coming through in the next UberFix version.  It's just 3 added lines for the Ooze suicide fix, and it won't break anything when the UberFix isn't running, so I'll post the change here when I put up a new version.

Out of curiosity, does anyone know what log error was being produced when TB would switch to fire mode?  I should probably change something so that doesn't happen when another mod overrides a BuffAffects function.

kk ty that would be great!

IDK, i just knew that buffaffects.lua was the one of only 3 files i have hooked destructively, and the only one that you had altered. I think that it was trying to get damage for its second weapon (1 for ice, 2 for fire?) and when he went into fire mode and got confused about where to look for it.

poison stone or whatever its called needs a further buff... still not practical.. try buffing the dmg to 5% and let's see.

There is a problem with two way mirror is still pretty big.  Even with the enhanced cooldown.  To illustrate, let's say a rook casts 2 way mirror.  Rook warps in, then starts to cast hammer slam.  Halfway through the hammer slam, rook is warped back.  However, hammer slam damage still occurs at the location he started the slam.  This might seem minor, but a dg should not be able start a slow cast attack, be removed from that location and still hit the attack.  If this can't be adjusted, then the item should be removed.

To clarify, if any ability that is not fully cast when a dg is using 2 way mirror, it should be interrupted when the effect is over.  It absolutely should NOT still cause damage in the place it was (rook is the clearest example - why should I take the impact damage from a rook that is 10 feet away from me?).
