[MOD] QUEEN OF THORNS

I know there is currently a mod being worked on by morpheus but these are the changes i feel QoT needs to become a competetive character. Ill see if i can work in a way to make uproot heal allied structures and maybe figure out a way how i can restructure composts effect when i can. Discuss.

*Bramble Shield functionality suggestion*

What do you guys think if i change the absorption affect to a function that makes any damage recieved, reduced by a percent for a specified duration (shorter than its current duration of course) and it can maybe reflect that percentage of dmg back?

Ground Spikes
- decreased attack speed buff duration to 8 secs

Uproot
- increased mana costs to 350/450/600/800

Violent Siege
- increased dmg to 250 dmg.

Bramble Shield II
- added movement speed buff of 5%

Bramble Shield IV
- decreased movement speed buff to 15%

Version 1.21

Level-UP stats (per lvl)
- max health increases by 118 from 113

Uproot
- added heal effect for allied structures!!! (thx to Ptarth)
- 'violent seige' effect is now across all levels
    - radius of 10
    - deals 50/100/150/200 dmg each sec for duration of uproot

Ground Spikes
- increased attack speed buff duration to 10 secs
- increased armor debuff to 7 secs

Spike Wave I
- increased dmg to 400
- increased range to 25

Spike Wave II
- reduced mana cost to 900

Spike Wave III
- reduced mana cost to 1050
- decreased range to 25

Bramble Shield III,IV

- Movement speed bonus increased to 10%/20%

Base Stats
- Energy regen increased by 0.7
- increased max health by 100
- increased max energy by 94

>> found a glitch with attack speed variation between
open and closed states. Initially open form has
faster attack speed than closed but after cloing then re-opening
the attack speed stays the same as being closed.

Leveling Stats (per lvl)
- max health increased by 8
- health regen increased to 0.24 from 0.180
- armor increased by 5
- attack rate increased to 0.0132 from 0.0119
- dmg increased by 0.3
- mana regen increased to 0.421 from 0.320 (approx total = 11-12)



Queen Packed State Buffs
- armor buff increased to 20%

Create Shamblers
- decreased mana costs to 175/350/575/800

Consume Shambler
- increased dmg radius to 10 from 8.
- mana costs are now 250/300/350.

Entourage
- dmg now increases by 8/16/24
- added attack speed bonus, 3/7/10%
- decreased max health benefit to 100/200/300.

Tribute
- gold production increase to 6
- added additional benefits
    - Max Health +600
    - Armor +600
    - Health Regen +6
    - Mana Regen +6

>> Practically 2 skill lines are needed for this benefit so thats why ive
added quite a few additional buffs.

Uproot
- mana costs decreased to 300/500/700/900
- increased range to 35.

>> We all want this to do its job more effectively, so how about taking
out enemy towers froma distance! I will work on whether i can get
it to heal ally towers though in the meantime.

Violent Siege
- dmg radius increased to 15 from 8.

Ground Spikes
- armor debuff changed to 400/600/800/1000
- added attack speed buff upon use, 5/10/15/25%

in doing this i reduced the amount of armor it negates. This skill
also outshone uproot so i believe this tweak is a good compramise.

Spike Wave
- increased movement speed debuff to 20/25/30%

Spike Wave II/III (new date.14/12)
- increased dmg to 600/850.

Bramble Shield III/Bramble Shield IV
- Added additional buffs for duration of brambles
    - Movement speed increased by 5/10%
    - Health regen +10/20

Goddess of Thorns
- When ground spikes is used - Damage reduction increased to 25% from 15%
- When brambles is used - Reflection damage increased to 60 from 30, decreased duration to 10 secs from 20.

Death Effect
- increased dmg effect to 25 from 10.
- increased dmg radius to 15.

I wasn't aying it wasn't, but nutrient extraction is something I do believe QoT needs.

Spike Wave
- increased movement speed debuff to 20/25/30%

i dont think that 30% over 25% justifies for a level 15 skill. either more slowing, more damage (like 800) or another debuff.

how about nerfing shield lvl 1 and 2 and buffing higher lvls a bit. its actually very strong early game but too weak later.

shield is like towers. not taking it at level1 is dumb. even with these fixes its just a bit too good. but there should always be multiple ways playing a char and thats still not the case with queen. also playing a full blown shield queen should be worth it but shield doesnt stack well. so even if it doesnt get nerfed early game it should be buffed at higher levels.

I've changed Uproot to a tower only stun with the last lvl being an AoE stun. It's very benefitial for her and other DGs when it comes to attacking a tower and for chasing a DG.

Plus it gives her the most unique stun in a game. Can only stun DGs who are next to towers

Playing multiple ways doesn't mean every single skill you choose have to be different  than playing another way. If so than characters like erebus needs to have skills like bite changed or sedna's healing abilities since they are incorperated in just about every single one of their builds. All nerfing shield at an early level would do is just make it a waste of skill points at the begining of the game.

Buff later I agree but nerf early is a simple no. Shield is the onlything that gives her the ability to control lanes agains demigods like ub early game.

1. Shamblers and entourage, yea a buff nerf is something she needs

2. You are joking right? This has got to be a joke seriously.

3. The shield is fine as is beginning of the game; just because yyou don't know how to deal with it does not mean she needs a buff. No level of the shield can survive a pile up before cool down is up.

Please just stop tweaking queen. She doesn't need your fiddling. 

Armor debuff is the only reason she rocks and now your nerfing that...

Been testing all the dg's out with this mod:

Settings: high gold, warscore, exp, spawn rate. Map prison and cat, 3v3 Nightmare ai with pepe's 1.18 mod.

Conclusion - QOT: Qot is now a very viable choice of demigod:

Build used during testing:

1. shield

2. thorns

3.save

4.sheild thorns

5. spike wave

6. save

7. thorns shield

8 and 9. save

10. shield thorns and spikewave

Items in order of purchase: monks, scaled and boots of speed, vlemish, banded and plenator, nimoths chest and magnus rod. Favor = staff of the warmage.

 

Review: Thorns is no longer the demolition skill it used to be, while still helpful for the deconstruction of buildings , the reduction of the armor debuff has made this skill less viable for this use (and potentially increasing the utility of uproot). However, the addition of the attack speed buff following use of this skill has made qot much more viable endgame and allows for the construction of an AA qot build which was not possible before. Amour buff along with new shield buffs during packed form allows for qot to go toe to toe with some of the more powerful demigods for much longer than before, in particular, tower rook and ooze ub. Sedna still is able to outlast qot substantally in a 1v1 fight. The removal of the armor debuff from thorns makes qot more suseptible to enemy minion builds than before. My lack of skill with minion qot limits my ability to discuss minion changes.

Uproot changes: I trialled these, however, as you need to invest in both compost and uproot to make this a viable skill (and i dont play minion build) means that this skill is fairly pointless still. It still costs too much mana for what you can do with a single thorns and 2AA's. Further the lack of mana that QOT always seems to have means that tower destruction with uproot is very expensive and limits your ability to fight other demigods.

IMO changes for uproot should be along the lines of, 1. 200 mana - 300 damage

2. 250 mana 600 damage,

3. 300 mana 850 damage + Violent siege

4. 300 mana 850 damage + Violent siege + prevents tower regen for 15 seconds.

cooldown - 10 seconds

 

This would make uproot less costly than thorns leaving qot with alot more of her mana and allowing her to do other things while destroying towers. Further addition of violent seige earlier would prevent tower camping during flag fights and allow use of uproot as a finisher (ie hit tower as enemy retreats making them take 400-600 damage (4-6 seconds to run past tower).


Replace compost with vampiric aura and replace tribute with top lvl compost such that minion builds are not without this skill (i dont really know how many ppl take it but i think this is a good compromise and should allow top lvl minion builds to take on LE minion builds.

 

Note: the biggest problem i use to have with QOT is finishing enemy demigods. Changes made here allow her to keep up with enemy demigods (ie shield movement speed buff) to allow her to make a kill. This alone has made qot be alot more viable as more kills = more gold and therefore allows you to compete on an item lvl with other demigods such as LE, without having to permafarm a lane.

very nice feedback on QoT there exx!

as youve mentioned, she does need a little more work though and i saw this when i was using her also. im capped atm so ive slowed down my modding process a little i hope to get back to it soon though. Hopefully im getting close to a finished mod

DONT. You're just changing Qot to be the same as other demigods. She is fine now. Uproot is never gonna be viable and should be completly changed.  If you even want to buff her just give her a stats buff and maybe add a bit of dmg to spike wave.

yeh thats what i want to do derog. but getting the functions is the problem for me. as i said im no pro at coding, atm im only able to make alterations and add/remove certain things.

if someone out there is able to add a tower healing effect for this skill go for it, and then send me the code. Ill credit you if thats what you want.

For the healing tower effect you'll only need the contents from HQueen_Abilities.lua. I included the others for some other changes I was making. You'll want Uproot_Damage, Uproot_Heal, Uproot 1 through 4. If you want to disable the AOE violent siege damage you'll need to remove 4 comment markers in Uproot_Damage & Uproot_Heal. It should be relatively straightforward, ask if you have questions.
