Quoting Gugaz,
Good job guys, fixing bugs is not a trivial task.

So far online connectivity has been quite good for me, I played several lag free games last night.

I suspect that most of the people that are complaining and cursing about the patch haven't done much in their part.

Everyone playing online should open up ports 6100-6200, if they're not open. Disable your firewall, disable your antivirus software or atleast allow incoming connections for demigod. If this does not improve your experience you might be having an ISP problem.

and at best u may format ur harddrive 5minutes later cause u got childporn viruses or something like that... everyone loves p2p connections

nope, patches are free, just sign on to your account on impulse and it should notify you that a patch is available.

Yeah, I just played an online game, but I really have to check my firewall setups too - the lag was pretty horrible without gates opened specifically. It runs as-is, but only if you like walking through molasses. Oh, and don't start rotating the map, with severe lag either. That'll take a while to finish.

If you don't have the port settings right then more likely it will change to proxy. Did you check in the game connection settings whether you were. If you are lagging the more likely reason is you haven't got enough upload bandwidth. For a 5v5 I believe the game needs 330Kb/s which is quite a lot!
