Registering Demigod (Retail)

Now that Demigod is available, quite a few people have been asking how they can register their game to play online.  Here's the step-by-step guide:

1)  Start Demigod and click Multiplayer

2) Click Internet

3) If you have an account, log in here. Your account is the same as you'd use on any Stardock website or Impulsedriven.com.  If you don't have an account click Create Account.  Otherwise, skip to Step 8.

4) Select Create new account. Enter your desired Account Name (i.e., nickname) and password. Please note your password must be between 8-12 characters.

5) Enter your name and email. A validation email will be sent to the address you enter. You'll need to follow think link in the email you receive to complete account setup.

6) Read through the Terms of Service if you like.

7)  Account creation complete!  Next Launch Impulse.

 

8) Click the Register Product button or the blue ? in the upper-right and select Register a product.

9) In the dialog, enter your Demigod serial number. The rest should be auto-entered for you.  This will allow you to play Demigod in online multiplayer, obtain updates, redownload the full game and much more.

It's worth noting that your Account Name is what will show up for your player name in online Multiplayer, *not* your Profile name that you create in Demigod. A few people have posted that changing the account name after logging in at least once still has Demigod using the old name, so until that's resolved (or may remain the same, who knows), make sure you pick a name you're comfortable displaying online.

Damn order failed!!! Won't be seeing this screen tomorrow. I think my mom told me that the card i used had enough money ($42) when it really didin't I'm assuming....cuz i got the receipt and everything....blah!!

uh...I haven't tried online stuff yet, but I had d/led Impulse previous to getting demigod in order to use these forums.  i then registered the game to get the update.  will this cause some kind of error or will it recognize i already have an Impulse account?

Some people have been posting that it has no effect on Demigod, though. The new name shows up on the forums fine, but Demigod still uses the old name.

Yes, Cari is going to have the database guys see why it isn't propogating, but still, that's how to change it

I also would like to add... That everytime I start up Impulse I get a error message saying I could not log in with my account name(the orginal one that I changed, tells me to register the old name, I hope this doesn't affect anything), even though it shows my new name in the information tab.

This keeps popping up when I start Impulse... And, the name still hasn't changed in game, although currently works on the forums and at least shows on both account info pages.

For me it keeps saying that my username etc is invalid for both my accounts I have on Stardock...

Got two accounts because my original account uses a different email than my PayPal account.

Also the game does not show in any of my accounts "My Registrations".

Even though the game registration with Impulse works just fine.

I saw on the DG forums that some people used their full name to register with Impulse, and they are worried (rightly so) about it showing in online play.  I like my P.P. name for most games/forums, but I really had a lot of Usernames going through my head when I got the game today as a BD gift, but it looks like I'm stuck with P.P. unless I change it for EVERYTHING

I keep getting the error, "the serial number you have entered is not recognized by impulse" as well as Product registration failed "the email address or serial number you have entered is not valid". (Ref :204)

If you bought digital, then yes. Only people who bought the box in a retail store need to register manually.

Make sure that you're entering the serial exactly as it is printed, including any dashes. 0s are zeros and 1s are ones; it will only have 0-9 and A-F.

Make sure you're logging in with the account that has the game registered on it. If you bought with paypal especially, you may also need a merge.

"Impulse was not able to create its temporary directories.Please try again,permitting administrator access when requested."

 

That shows when I try to play Impulse...

 

And I can't play online,because my Impulse don't working.

 

Somebody now what's going on?,why my Ipulse don't working?
