I thoroughly enjoyed this movie!!! Loved the soundtrack, the cast, the humor, all of it.

For those of you who read the comics, how did it compare? I had some friends who felt it stuck to it pretty well.

I loved the movie.  I'm not familiar with the new Guardians, haven't read comics in a long time.  But I liked this team better than the Major Victory one, although Drax sure has changed a lot in the last few decades.

The Guardians were great, I was a bit more disappointed with the Villains. Though getting to see a bit more of Thanos is always interesting.

Have not seen the movie but will in the near future... but I'm a huge comic book nerd.

The Gog comic has always been a bit off imo.  The original GoG was very strange (it was about as popular as the new warriors imo - I'm sure you've heard of them, right...?).  The reboot of GoG in the comics (a few years back), was more interesting to me, but still not of the caliber of other marvel titles.  They've woven the GoG into more and more marvel comics of late due to the movie's release imo, but it made them more interesting.  For instance, 1-3 months ago, there was an x-men/gog crossover that was clearly for the movie. There's been like a 6 month or so build up doing crossovers to get us into the characters.

Anyway, in comicdom, I think they are marvel's b or c list (d list before reboot).  I'm impressed that the movie is doing well.  That says a heck of a lot marvel's casting.  Think a lot of people like the lead from parks and rec.  I think its really bold for marvel to make the movie period considering that non comic book nerds know ZERO of the characters involved.  Great for everyone if its a solid movie and well received.

Honestly, I'm really surprised with the movies lately and their reception.  That days of future past xmen stuff - one of the best claremont story lines imo.  Super sci fi stuff with time travel as well.  People dig it.  Now this.  Next, the avengers vs ultron in the future.  Lots of crazy comic stuff.

I really enjoyed Guardians.  Anyone else confess to Rocket being their favorite character in the film?

I saw it in IMAX 3D, and posted afterwards on Fandango that they should just stop making movies now as no other will ever surpass it.

Quoting Uvah,

I'm waiting for the DVD to come out.

It was so great in the theater... I would go see it again by myself! (Took my husband, he thinks he took me...he's wrong, ha!)

Oh he was hilarious! And it took me by surprise that it was Bradley Cooper voicing him.
