Temps are in the low to mid fifties here in Pa in the mornings and highs in the mid to upper seventies. By Monday it'll be in the eighties.

I don´t think they still hibernate since we already are in the positive degrees but they do so in the winter,  she/he moved a bit further up the tree this morning im not certain why they keep climbing it since its a dead tree basically but there is a whole snail family at it... probably bc of food and the moss but yes he is alive dispite the little crack on his/her shell ^_~  ohh and thanks

You're welcome!  Well if there is a whole family and they are moving then probably they are eating something in the moss. A snails shell can repair itself over time, given that it has the right food.  Probably like our fingernails.
