I used to play when the game was more new. THEN I lost my job and my home and spent two years homeless and couchsurfing. I came back to find that this game was dead. HOW DISAPPOINTED WAS I! This was my favorite game! Anyway, I left it installed for single player, but since it takes so long to find a game in multiplayer, I don't play very often (I think I've manged to get in to three or four games total, after convincing the other players to let me play even though my game count is low [ladders apparently were reset while I was homeless?], because who else are they going to get to play, anyway?).
Well, that's dumb. I'm never going to get in a game just hoping people are on. We have to plan something. The forum community is still [somewhat] around, so I figured I'd attempt a PLANNED DEMIGOD WEEKEND. This weekend, September 15 and 16th, I will be on Demigod Multiplayer running games with the mod package (balance/AI/UI, no favor items or anything else). Anyone who still has the game installed, or would like to reinstall, is welcome to join me. All skill levels are welcome.
If this has a successful turnout, I'd like to plan more Demigod Weekends, and possibly get a community tournament together.
I know that a sudden influx of interest in playing Demigod will not inspire GPG or Stardock to create new content or update this game, nor will it convince them (completely, at least) to start work on a Demigod 2 (It might, but I wouldn't count on it). All I'm hoping to accomplish is getting people playing this game again, even if its just one or two weekends a month, so we can all have some fun and remember how great of a time we all had.
WHO IS WITH ME?
