Should I still buy this?

By on March 29, 2012 8:22:55 AM from Stardock Forums Stardock Forums

So right now i'm considering buying this game. Should I? I hear the AI is actual above average, I've tried the demo I must say it's kinda cool but are there still people even playing this and is the single player good enough to off-set having no one else to play it with? Or should I spend an extra 10 dollars to get my friends to play with me?

I suggest you spend does 10 bucks on something else, the AI is only decent with mods, the single player (there is no ultra cool sexy story with campaign missions and stuff like that) is just skirmish, and to end this post the community is preaty much dead.

Only if you are a supporter of the arts and uniqueness.

Yes I understand there is no awesome solid storyline(even thought the game looks like it's begging for it) But did you say mods? When you said 10 bucks did you mean the 10 bucks to buy the 4-gift pack or the game itself?

So if Roninberg is gonna get the Demigod 4-Pack for 14$ or whatever is the price on steam, he will have 1 copy for himself and 3 copys to give away to his friends, the normal game for me is set at 8 euros in $ thats 6. Hope I cleard the problem.

And there are some mods but not something cool like maps ( skins for chars and tweaks to make the game more balanced), but this mods can`t save the game alone, does monkeys at gas powerd ding dong need to fix the bloody game but they can`t do that because the fired the staff that made the game .

not anymore. pretty sure the multiplayer community is dead.

But, if you can get a few other friends to play with you the game won't be nearly so lonely. Depends how much money is worth to you, at that point.

If you go to LAN events probably could be a lot of fun, but don't count on getting any regular matches online.

If it is <= $10, its a good buy, imo, for even vs ai games.  Pretty sure that's worth the price of admission alone (assume the game is worth $2 per hour - you can easily get 5 hours out of the standard AI).  If my only option was to play against AI, <=$10 is quite fair and I'm sure you'll enjoy yourself.

If you do pick it up, be sure to check the modding forum.

Its a great game, and there are still quite a bit of us who are "mid" and "new" so you will find games, np.

If you like waiting in a lobby for 30 minutes then getting booted without a word because your a new player than yeah sure.

Personally I think the way this community treats new players is a disgrace, and the reason the community has poisoned its own well.

At my level (middle rank player) I'm comparatively well served for games, much better than the noobs and pros, but I am only sticking around until I can get into DOTA2.
