Customer account > How ??

By on January 24, 2012 1:05:58 PM from WinCustomize Forums WinCustomize Forums

Hi all. First, sorry for my bad english, non native speaker blah blah.

I bought 3 days ago the Object Desktop suite.

However,  I absolutely don't understand how to make my WinCustomize account a customer one. I probably did not use the same email for this account than the one I used to buy the suite (this account is older and I don't use the mail related anymore, let's call the one I used for the purchase the "stardock account", and the one I am posting with now the "wincustomize account").

Well, no problem, I was thinking about making a new wincustomize account with the stardock account, but the system told me that the email adress was already in use (if the Stardock database is common with the WinCustomize one, it seems logical). Of course (it wouldn't have been funny otherwise), I can't log on Wincustomize with only my stardock email, and I don't have any nick related with my stardock account (It has never been asked nor given).

Maybe I missed something (PEBKAC is always possible), I don't know, but... how can I use my customer account rights ?

PM a moderator and ask him to "merge" your accounts. Hankers is a good one for this, I think.

Use this to transfer registrations to the email you want as a Customer one - http://www.stardock.com/support/registrations/

Quoting RedneckDude,

Nope.

Only Stardock employees can change merge the accounts. That link I posted allows the user to do it as well.

If that doesn't work then contact [email protected] and start a trouble ticket.

Well, you were still a good one who had the correct info. Thanks Hankers.

If Hankers' link doesn't help, send an email to [email protected] with as much info as possible, including any email addresses you may have used, and we'll get everything straightened out.

Okay, thanks for your help so far. However, I still have a problem.

In fact, to be honest, I absolutely don't remember which email I used for my current account (the WinCustomize one), and none of the ones I try to enter in the reset tool does work.

However, I do have the access for the WinCustomize account (this is not an automatic browser logon), so, before I contact the support, is there any way to know which email I used, while using the session ?

Not really, but when you contact [email protected], let them know the username that shows up at the top of the page, like so:

You should be able to see it here.

Yep, hello from my new account, this time it worked (I finally did a new account with a new mail and transferred everything to the new account).

Anyway, now it's ok, thanks for your help.
