The All Father has vanished, creating an opening in the Pantheon. To fill the void, Demigods from across from the mortal world must wage war against one another in a bid to ascend to true godhood. Demigod the 2008 Action RTS title developed by Gas Powered Games and published by Stardock is now available on Steam for $6.69 (33 percent off until January 2nd) or as a 4-pack for $19.99 at http://store.steampowered.com/app/202710/?snr=1_4_4__13.

Recently called “one of the most polished, gorgeous and imaginative games” by GamePro Magazine (winter issue), Demigod includes extensive role-playing elements and allows players to choose from several Demigods, each poised for battle with their own unique capabilities and awe-inspiring powers. Seriously I hate what Gamestop is doing, pretty much destroying Impulse and pretty much consolidating it on Steam (I think Valve is paying Gamestop to move all the games there)

Actually what is happening is that Stardock is no longer competing with Valve's distribution network and is therefore releasing its library to a wider audience. Gamestop has nothing to do with it.

It's brilliant to see Demigod on Steam!

However, I bought the game some years ago. Is it somehow redeemable on Steam now? The original cd-key doesn't match (obviously)...

I had the same question as skull, in fact I just came here as soon as a saw Demigod on Steam, as I haven't played it since I first got it.  Maybe with it on Steam at a low price it will grow a community, then I'd play it, provided there was some sort of redemption on steam.

I do not believe licenses are transferable from impulse to steam.  It will still work on whatever digital distribution platform you purchased it on, I'm sure.

And yes, having this on steam has already quadroupled the number of people playing the game online.  You can see open/active games here:

OH. MY. GOD.

I have been waiting for this day forever.

I had gotten Demigod back when it was first released and loved it, but the game died off due to hacking apparently and other issues, which really upset me, since the Torchbearer is probably in the top 10 or even the top 5 of my favorite video game characters ever, and many of the other heroes from Demigod are not far behind.

I loved the characters' background stories, their sound effects, the game's graphics and music and gameplay and everything.

And now... now it's all going to be revived again.

Time to bear the torch once more...

To reiterate: WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

Just to explain the Sins experience as SoaSE was the first Stardock game to hit steam, yes the Steam release lead to a major increase in online games. Yes you can play with the steam players. No you cannot transfer your game to Steam, but if you don't like Impulse you will (supposedly) soon be able to use Stardock's new store app instead of Impulse to update and the like.

If you want the player bump to last, try to be nice to the noobs, I myself got the game a while ago but haven't really played. Perhaps I should take a shot at it again just to while I won't be the only new player online.

well, they removed it from featured games on first page...I wish we knew sales, it would be interesting....4 pack is still there.

I loved the game when I bought it at release and when I saw it on Steam for 7.00€ I just bought it again to show support.

Depends. If more people plays the game, maybe someone will pick it up and do addons or Demigod 2, but as it stands now....they gave it up.

Stardock does run the game though.
