ok - I'm just going to throw this out there as a few people have chatted me up about this.
- I'm really happy that we are getting some folks that don't normal participate in tourneys to join in here.
- There are a couple of folks that are planning on participating that often run off at the mouth (eg flame in game if you do poorly, etc).
First - please don't feel any real need to defend yourselves here. I'd like for everyone to play and have fun in the tourney. I think everyone will enjoy themselves and like getting paired up with folks they don't regularly play together with. We'll have more than a few really solid, reasonably balanced games because of the format. I would like to ask for some restraint in game if you are upset with your teammates, though. We will ALL be paired up with players of varying skill levels. Just because you get paired with a teammate that isn't as good as you are with all dgs etc, is no reason to flame. So please, keep that in mind and remember - we will all play with the same players and be at a disadvantage if our teammate has to play a dg they aren't all that good with. That said, we all know how good it feels to win if you are able to carry a teammate that isn't all that great with X dg. And that, although its not fun to try to carry someone, it does say a heck of a lot for your skill level if you can. Anyway, I'm not at all attempting to slight anyone that's registered currently as a weak player or anything of the sort. I just want to cover some bases in advance so that we can all have fun and enjoy ourselves.
I've already put the blanket statement out there of please try not to bust your teammates chops too much. I'll add to it - only bust the chops of your opponents if you are familiar with them and they are cool with some trash talk.
Anyway, here's what I propose - if you end up with a teammate that is flaming you, just pm me and explain the situation. If a player gets particularly nasty, then I'll just post a simple recommendation, along with instructions, on how to squelch the player so that you don't have to put up with any abuse in game from your teammates. Anyway, hopefully there won't be any real need to do this, but we'll just cover this base in advance.
