Login Server Problems

Ok, this has been happening all day for multiple people... but haven't seen much about it. Attempting to log into the game, you will log in as nothing. "You are now logged in as" no name will follow.  You can still connect to the chat but you will have a Guest_## nickname.

After trying to fix this all day, I'm guessing it is a problem with the login server and this is a server side problem with Stardock.  Doesn't appear to be any fix, so if you are not connecting, if you see no games in the lobby, or get an error trying to host, you will simply have to try again later and hope for the best.

It almost appears that logins are accepted for 5 minutes but then just drops for the next 30.

Yes, had this problem a bit ago. I just had to wait a few minutes and then it disappeared. Although it seemed to only be fixing itself for some people at any given time, because when it let me login it didn't let some other people login.

You are correct about that... it seems to only be allowing certain people in at given times. I tried to connect when one of my friends did (like a minute later), but couldn't get in.  I guess I missed the window to login. hehe

The good news is, at least, once you are logged in, unless you crash, you will remain logged in and your lobby will list games.  Just keep hammering away at that login.

*This is a BS solution? You are crazy man! This is at least an example of the problem providing some insight... best I have even seen posted about this on the forums all day. Whatever, drive to their server location and fix it!! There is your solution.

*Yes, do not put to much effort into this... try logging in once every 5-10 minutes.

I just tried to do some online play, and it does the same thing.  No login name; no games listed; no friends list.  Since this is the first time I've tried to do MP in a long time, it's not the best "re-insentive".

Nakor has looked into the problem and hopefully, resolved the issue. Thanks a bunch Nakor! Let us hope this has fixed it for good.

Everything appears to be working smoothly again. I have been able to log in more in the past 30 minutes than I have been able to most of the day... so looks like the problem has been fixed, for the most part, for us users anyways.

If you have Demigod running, exit the game and start it back up. Hopefully you will be able to log in with no problems now.

There was some unexpected store maintenance issues today as we worked on some things, but that should not have impacted anyone logging onto the Demigod servers and hosting or playing games.

When this thread came up and some people on irc reported problems, I tested logging in with multiple accounts and did not have issues.

Delving deeper into what could be a problem, I did find one server in the Demigod logon cluster that was potentially lagging. So I shut it off for the moment.

Nobody in irc is continuing to report any issues atm, drop kwilas at stardock dot com an email over the weekend if you're having funk.

Nakor, im having trouble. I changed my name to get my account to refresh like some people had suggested but now i cannot change it back. It is supposed to be -Pod- when i click on change name i get no error message or success message. any way you guys can fix it for me? Sent an email to support aswell.

Still problems here (EU). Multiplayer lobby lags like hell and I can't join games. Chat lags too.

I am still having similar problems. Hangs on login screen, hangs on custom game lobby, then hangs when people join/leave the game then ultimately freezes compleatly.

This. Sometimes it feels almost like it isn't joining because it takes so long. Also, my UI has gotten very unresponsive in the lobby, although once I get in-game it is fine.

I'm getting this problem as well. I'm glad its just an issue, as today was my first experience with multiplayer aside from lan with my roommate, and I was really worried about it.
