Strategy Requests for this Setup (Conquest / Oak, Sedna vs Erebus, Regulus)

By on July 21, 2009 6:39:17 PM from Demigod Forums Demigod Forums

Fellow Demigods!

Please consider this set up:

Light: Sedna, Oak

Dark: Erebus, Regulus

Map: Prison

Game Type: Conquest

Playing as light: the problem I find is that the Erebus/Regulus team up quite well on this map. Assume the Erebus goes for a slow/stun build, while the Regulus goes for a maim, high damage build. Since Prison is a fairly easy map to stick with your teammates, this combination can be quite hard to break.

In short, the strategy is that Erebus/Regulus can limit the Sedna/Oak team's damage output (via bite/charm), but also stop them from running away (via maim). Naturally this translates into easy kills. Also, should the Sedna/Oak team decide to chase, its difficult because of Regulus' maim. From this, it is tough for Sedna/Oak to go head to head.

There is very little running around and leveling up because of the map layout. One would assume that you would have to go head-to-head, which is tough because of the above combination.

A high flag capture time would also favour the Erebus/Regulus team (as they have more time to move around together).

Does anyone have any counter strategies to this?

well, oaks at a natural disadvantage on prison due to him not being able to hide till he can...do something.  best thing id say to do is play conservatively , staying on your side of the map and not overextending till oak busts out the pwnage.  once hes lvl 7,  him with sedna backup healing should put the hurt on them.  focus fire the pounce and pen on them and its gg.

Both light players cant be slowed at the same time. If they split slows, they r spliting damage and u should not die so fast. So, if they focus fire, and I think they will, the one thats not slowed goes directly at Reg. He cant tank all that well right? Ur fellow slowed will get to regulus one time or the other, I meen, u got heals, shilds, peni, u will get to him eventuly, if he runs to early u focus on erebus all by himself, if he runs to late, he is dead. Well, that what I would do being light and actualy not played that setup, I might be wrong.

Focus LE from start is bad, imo, he can tank quite some time, and dark has more damage output, I would figure a loss if that happens over and over again. U have to have position, chose ur ground to fight, as in any prison game, thats the trick.

gl buddy.

I think you should build for toughness and just accept snares at the begining. If you both take Blood of the Fallen in the early game along with Oak taking armour and Sedna taking priest you will be snared... but if you stick together you should be to tough for them to kill and they'll have to retreat. Snare only work if the person is running away so if your tougher then them it doesn't help much. By the time they come back from the crystal your priest will heal you up and you'll have spend the whole time getting EXP and gold. Try to focus on using less mana as priest don't regenerate mana. Erebus will fly in and burn all his mana and hitpoints and then escape. But even if he takes priest he'll have to go back to the crystal to regenerate mana. If Oak take even one point in divine justice he can get mana in the field and if Senda is also taking passives like healing wind and letting the priests heal you as much as possible you won't have to go back to the crystal except to buy gear.

Mid game buy wands of speed cause they counter maim and bite fairly well at this level. Combine this with a 50G Totem of Revelation and you can easily get away from Erebus before he can get in bite range or Regulus can get in auto attack range. Make sure Oak and Sedna have different type of priest to increase the rate of healing... and make sure your stacking health item so you can buff the hitpoints you gain with each priest heal. Also minion now will be useful espically if summoned after Erebus uses charms.

Regulus is usally soft and squishy so he'll want to stay away shooting from a distance. Use both of you use your wand of speed and run after him and you might be able to kill him thus giving you side the advantage or have just one demigod run after him so he's effectively out of the the battle as he's running away and let the other demigod 1v1 Erebus with both sets of minions and priests for the win.

Late Game both Sheild and Heal remove all snares from the player when used so their slow abilities become far less useful. Your build on the other hand are scaling well.

I'd recommend Oak Raise Dead War and at least one point in Soul Power. As long as Regulus isn't in range to use Mines. If he is coming into use mines just be careful and they'll still be able to boost Oaks power making him to take down Erebus. Shield is good cause it removes snares and it's just good period (And works great with wand of speed for a quick get away.

You won't be killing the other demigod very often at the begining which is fine but annoying. If you stay together I don't see the other demigod being able to push you off flags so you should probably beat them at warscore. The biggest thing is just to be tougher then them and use passive healing and try to survive their bursts attacks until they run out of mana. If Erebus tries to gank one of you simply beat on him together don't run away unless your sure you can escape. He'll probably batswarm off which sucks for you but your still alive getting EXP from creeps and out leveling him while he's going back to the crystal to power up for his next attack.

this is kinda sneaky, but it might work.

have the Sedna player keep her priest summons slightly further back in anticipation of Erebus' Mass Charm. you want them out of range for the stun. once he stuns, order the priests back into range so they can right away heal you. this way you reduce the risk of being bursted out while your priest minions are stunned and unable to heal you.

How many slows would the dark side have ?as erebus has to be in melee to apply any slow, he could just be the main target at the time. A petinince on his head, a pounce of the already speedy sedna, surge of faith for atk+speed boost and possibly a shield for following them around or giving sedna a moment to heal up

Sure, if you are slow stacked on.. and you can hardly move around, it might get tough.. But prison is a small map. Shield + wand and you are at your towers. heal is there too to keep you both up and running. Both should be running around with priest+ idols

If the erebus ends up going for minions it might be tough, as the light team lacks strong spammable AOEs, oaks surge being the only one worth a slight mention...

to little info to get into more detail imo

You should be able to get kills on Erebus if you pickup silence to stop him from misting and swarming away when low.  If you can catch Reg he would be in trouble, but good Regs will stay far away.  One (or both) of you will want to pickup the slowing gloves (likely Oak); otherwise you give them the speed advantage.  If both of you invest in store bought minions, you two should have a small army that can burst down towers pretty quickly. As someone mentioned before, different ranks of priests are needed to greatly boost the healing.  Also, upgrade to priests asap, as they will help pushing towers.  This game won't be about who kills who the most, but about who destroys towers first, which you two should have the upper hand on.  As far as defense goes, you two should be very hard to take down, unless you are overextending yourselves early in the game.

You have 3 different ways to interrupt Charm, Bat, and Bite (Pounce, Silence, Penitence), 2 ways to remove snares (Heal 3, Shield 3), 2 ways to counteract snares (Grace, Surge), and 4 ways to not die (Heal, Shield, High Priests, Bishops). This doesn't sound like a difficult matchup.

The way I'd play it is to split up and keep the two outer flags capped and farm the adjacent creep lane. This forces the other team to split up or chase one of you thus letting the other cap the center flag. Once you get a few levels in and have a sufficient minion army. Either have the minions gang up on Regulus but send them in two waves so that an early stun will only catch one of the two mobs and a late stun would risk leaving Regulus dead. Or start attacking their defenses two structures at a time starting from the edge working towards the center of their base thus also forcing them to split up or risk losing one of the two structures attacked.

Essentially if you can;t take them out in a head on confrontation, play cat and mouse. Prison is a small map but it is not that small.

Zygwen...that start will NEVER work because you will constantly lose one of those two outer flags.  If they move as a unit they will push you out of the  creep late on just simply kill you.  Once you hit level 7 it should not be too hard to kill regulus.  Sedna's heal will remove maim and oak can dish out killer damage as well as improve your run speed with surge of faith.  keeping pressure on Reg will force him to retreat and then he cant DPS.  If you REALLY want to kill erebus then just hold penitence after the first shot for his stun wind up.  It is a one second cast and very obvious.  Keep pent up and just click him when you see the wind up.  Also even though oak is somewhat limited early game heal is much better than any move Reg or Erebus will have.  If you both have monks/BotF you should easily be able to push them around.
