12 tiers

A win advances the victors one tier.

Spending X Favour times the round number sends a designated player down a single tier. This occurs in between rounds.

At the 12th round conclusion the two players with the highest placing in tiers face off in a 1-on-1 match to determine who ascends. Conquest mode always.

This would work well in conjunction with a Save feature ala Sins Of A Solar Empire. Also, Favour points must be kept track of on a tournament by tournament basis.
