For All the Australians who play Demigod!

By on July 10, 2009 2:17:41 AM from Demigod Forums Demigod Forums

Hey guys, just letting you all know that there is a small group of us from Australia that hang out in the chat channel demigod-au.

join us by typing "/channel demigod-au" in the in-game irc chat, which can be accessed by pressing shift+tab.

hopefully this will help us grow as a community and enable us to make more games .

Excellent... our plan for domination is proceeding exactly as planned...

Back to reality - I actually type "/Channel #demigod-au". I guess the # isn't needed? Also, is there anyway to change the default channel that the in-game IRC uses? I'd much prefer it to default to the Australian channel than the general one and it would save me changing channels every time I load Demigod.

NZ...that's an Australian state is it not......

July 10, 2009 10:32:30 AM from Demigod Forums Demigod Forums

May I just butt in to say that Singaporean players go well with Australian games. The ping may look scary at 200+ms, but it's good enough to play with. Please bear with us when we pop into your games on occasion. You can feel free to pop into our (rare) games too.

I've also tried using the /channel singapore method to get SG players to talk to each other in-game, but everytime I enter that channel, it's empty. We've so far resorted to using XFire to get games going instead.

Quoting Neilo,
NZ...that's an Australian state is it not......

I think there's a clause in the Australian constitution that allows NZ to become a state if they so choose.

EDIT:

"The States" shall mean such of the colonies of New South Wales, New Zealand, Queensland, Tasmania, Victoria, Western Australia, and South Australia, including the northern territory of South Australia, as for the time being are parts of the Commonwealth, and such colonies or territories as may be admitted into or established by the Commonwealth as States; and each of such parts of the Commonwealth shall be called "a State".

Section 6,
Preamble to the Australian Constitution

Can't the channel just be called au or aust to make it easier by does it need demigod in it?

July 11, 2009 6:02:59 AM from Demigod Forums Demigod Forums

The channel itself can be accessed outside of Demigod by other IRC chat programs. Literally any IRC program that enables you to change channels can log you into it. Adding Demigod to the name prevents people from being confused about what the channel is for. That, and because that's what it was called when it was created.

Ok if that is the case. Oh well.

/join #demigod-au

How about an australian tournament one of these weekends?

It always seems to be the same people over and over again anyway

what type of tournament?

Quoting StAcK3D_ActR,
what type of tournament?

The greatest tournament of all time...

Let the battle begin!

August 13, 2009 2:45:40 PM from Demigod Forums Demigod Forums

there's no point in having an australian tournament, everyone knows that Ryanheart will be on the premade team and i'll be the only person capable of countering him

seriously though, how many of you guys actually manage to log in via impulse, i've had to use mirc due to the error flood message

also NZ will become an Australian state only after we've cleansed Australia of all of you.

August 13, 2009 8:39:32 PM from Demigod Forums Demigod Forums

we've cleansed Australia of all of you.

We've? You mean there are actually Kiwi's still in NZ?

How about an Aus vs NZ contest?

Seems to be enough from both sides.

All this is just ideas, i think it owuld be a interesting thing to do.

Since 3v3 seems the most played/playable gametype, 3v3.

Map random?

Conquest as the only gametype.

Default settings?

Say a 16 team competition? Or if not enough 8 teams? Half of each nationality.

Both country teams play vs the same nationality team untill the final, sudden death knockout.

So basically, the teams of each country play off to find out who is the best, then those play off for the Aus vs NZ title.

The match to somehow be shown live online?

August 16, 2009 9:15:43 AM from Demigod Forums Demigod Forums

i doubt we would have enough players for 8 teams of 3v3.

besides we would know who would win, me n ryan are both aus
