Disingenuous "Sales" on Impulse

By on June 12, 2009 4:58:15 PM from Sins of a Solar Empire Forums Sins of a Solar Empire Forums

Okay, first off, this is not a note against Stardock or Impulse.  I happen to like them both quite a bit.

What I'm annoyed at is the current "Sales" by Activision which are showing up on Impulse in the "On Sale" feature area: Prototype and CoD4: Modern Warfare.  It certainly appears that Activision pulled a rather underhanded move by discounting the two games by a minimal amount of money, so that they would both appear in the highly-visible and frequently visited On Sale section.  Both games are discounted by $1.49.  A whopping 3% of the retail price (technically 3.73% for Prototype) seems, well, pitiful.

In my humble opinion, Stardock should probably put a limit on the amount of a sale something is actually discounted for before allowing a product in the "On Sale" section.  I just find this frustrating, since it makes Impulse -a service I normally enjoy- seem very cheap and makes me not want to use it.

Thoughts?

Yes that about clears it up. I still stand by my point ofcourse, but reading what Frogboy said kind of makes this topic pointless

Frogboy for the win.  Thanks for clearing that up.

Quoting Frogboy,
Just a clarification, the item in question isn't on sale, that is its normal price. When someone changed the price from the list price they used the wrong function and turned it into a piddly sales item.

Thanks for the explination!
