You have entered an invalid username/pw... can't log in after crash

Well... seeing as I apparently have lots of time to post while I wait for a disconnect, here we go.  I'm at the load screen for pantheon.  I get a hard crash... the new magical crash that doesn't leave any dialog boxes occurs (I posted on this in bugs with logs previously).  Anyway, I now have the invalid login issue.  Presumably, the game still thinks I'm logged in and is denying access when I try to login again. 

Stardock - can you ellaborate on what the time outs are?  If the above occurs, how long do I have to wait until the system realizes I'm not connected?  Is there anything in the works that might resolve this or will it always be an auto-timeout issue?

Update:

Just to clarify - this post was about the outage that lasted approximately 13 hours where regardless what you did, you could not log back in.  Per Frogboy, the issue was caused by their ISP doing some maintenance without informing them.  If the ISP had not been doing maintenance, then perhaps this would have been very similar to the invalid username/password issue that many have encountered in the past. 

Anyway, SD let us know what happened and the 13 hour lockout is over.

Just had the same thing happen to my brother-in-law while we were playing together...  He can still log in/out of Impulse (the application and on the website), but the Demigod login fails.  Sounds like the authentication server needs some attention or there needs to be some way to signal that a D/C has occurred from the client side.  Luckily we got to play a few games before his crash, but we were hoping to play a bit more...

This is my guess. Server load hit way too much and started locking people out. I've noticed the server being a bit sluggish lately and tonight had about 4x as many games up as Im used to seeing.

 

Also, Please include in the next update: A game related news like blizzard has so we know wtf is going on or post on the forums asap. Secondly proper "messages" such as game server full would be nice instead of password/account is wrong. Things like that make people think it's on their end when its not.

I was also in a game like 3 hours ago. My game crashed & I still cant login. Ive tried changing my Pw. but no luck.

Whats going on?

me and my m8 can't login either.

We more and more get the feeling that his game is released WAY to early, i feel like a early alpha tester .
Before i couldn't logon anymore the serverlist was really slow, plus there was a huge amount of ghost games.

I got the famous error before i couldn't logon anymore.

Wel i hope they fix it soon and make this game serverside .
Because this idea turns out to be wors then serverside.

GL & HF Fixing it.

Lethstang - It's the same info that you use to login in impulse. Load the Impulse application up, click on the lightning bolt, go to change login, then select I forgot my account information. It'll ask to enter your email and then will send you your username/password.

 

On topic. It's been 12 hours since I haven't been able to login. Maybe tomorrow.

You know, I'm not sure whether or not official peoples are reading this, but on the off chance that you are - I hate you and your company so very much for effectively robbing me. Every 6 out of 10 score is feeling far too generous right now, since, reviewers at least get to play, review and move on. I'm one of those hopeless optimists who's still being anally raped by your design decisions and shitty support.

I love to play games and usually bring a cross-game clan of about 8 players with me between L4D, WoW, EQ2, Killing Floor, TF2, Modern Warfare, etc... I've told them all to steer clear of this game, despite initially having my 3 core players laying down pre-orders to get it on Australian release.

Anyway, I am having the same issue, can't log in, invlaid username/password after a game crash... Seems a lot of people are (thats no excuse for a *polished* product) and am looking forward to getting back online

This is unacceptable. And SD/GPG had the nerve to talk about getting this game sold for future support. I'm not going to reccommend this game to anyone unless they fix any and all of the technical issues that shouldn't have been in the finished product at all.

I Agree and am very disappointed. Video games have transgressed from advanced toys for kids to a medium of entertainment and communication for people of all ages. It's unacceptable that on a Saturday night, where players are off work and you expect high volume, that you do not have a staff to troubleshoot the servers. 8 hours of down-time with no support, no responses, and no resolution? This work ethic would land you a pink slip where I work; I doubt you guys could hold a job flipping burgers. The game is fun, the design is great, if only you had the dilligence to keep the servers online. Total shame that you are running your own company into the ground with your lack of follow through. There's no excuse for this at all. If red lights go off in my lab I'd apologize to my wife, get off the beach, and get to work. I wouldn't have a job monday otherwise. You guys won't either.

Just got hit by this too.

First I received an out of memory error while the custom game list was loading ( I have 8 GB of RAM )

And now I'm locked out of the game.

I played 2 pantheon games today, while the third game was loading the game crashed completely, I had to hard reset my PC.

Okay I restarted and could still login, then I clicked on "custom games" and the game crashed again and now I can't login anymore...
