An old thread that identified this issue that has fallen off the front page on the tech support forum. I figured rather than bumping the thread, a new one that outlines the exact problem might be better off.
The symptoms of the problem are some visual effects not appearing correctly, or not appearing at all. It doesn't affect visual quality, but it seems to affect some kind of transparant visuals. The problem occurs regardless of the visual quality settings of the game, and occur even on the highest graphics settings.
Effects that appear to be affected:
- Queen of Thorn's Bramble Shield is not visible at all.
- The puddle like effect from Unclean Beast's spit is not visible.
- The fire effect from Torch Bearer's Ring of Fire does is not visible.
- The mist effect from Erebus's Mist skill is not visible (because erebus is also invisible, it looks like he has teleported).
- The visual effect that shows where a player is teleporting to is not visible.
- The trail on the shots from the Trebuchet (Rook and Fortress) are not visible.
- The trail on the shot from Regulus's Snipe does not appear correct.
- The glow around items is not visible.
- The visual effect for leveling up is not visible.
- The glow effect that shows when a flag is being captured is not visible.
There are likely more, but these are just what was reported. Not all visuals break, only some appear to. All the broken visuals seem to be created using some kind of transparancy / blending.
A video is available on youtube that shows some of these problems. See Youtube: Demigod - Missing Visual Effects
