Hero Builder (Excel)

By on April 25, 2009 8:33:55 PM from Demigod Forums Demigod Forums

Below is an Excel Spreadsheet I've created that will calculate out hero stats based on your hero choice, level, and item.

The numbers used are unaudited and I have not completely tested the calculations herein, so please use at your own risk.  Special Thanks to the team at the Demigod Wiki (http://demigod.wikia.com/wiki/Demigod_Wiki) and Zeneroth for his detailed listing of items currently available (https://forums.demigodthegame.com/349035).  I've put to use both sources for the data used in the spreedsheet.

The current version (.9) assumes that percentages are added and not multiplied to calculate out stats.  I do not remember the source, but someone had tested this theory and concluded this was in fact the case.

The following are missing, but planned, from the current version:

  • Queen of Thorns full stat information
  • Minion Stat information (both idols and generals)
  • Tech Tree Calculations

The file is fairly open for edits and adjustments, as long as they are shared with the public if players find the information useful.  Updates are planned for future item/demigod releases if demand warrants.  Please comment on any additional information you'd like to see and I will try to find time to make it happen.

Enjoy!

can you upload it to a more friendly place?  I keep being told "no free download slots, please try again or UPGRADE!" ffs.  http://www.savefile.com/ is pretty good.

Thanks!

I've been working on a site that does similar, http://www.backwardshypothesis.com/demigod/calculator.php

I have bought DemigodDB.com and plan to put it up there.

Click "Calculator" to open the statistics window, then when you click on items it'll automatically recalculate your hero statistics. Tech Trees are also added and you can select which skills you want and such, I'm hoping to add these to the calculations before the weekend ends.

Tried for 20 mins to download. No free connections. Too bad, I'd like to look at this, but it's not worth fighting with FileFactory.

What a great site. This is fantastic for Theorycrafting. I don't know what your future plans are, but if I can make a couple of sugguestions I would love to see the following:

1. Support for Favor Items

2. Ability to store and compare builds side by side.

Sorry for the thread hijack.

Just updated with Favor Item Support I also plan to allow storing and comparing builds, I need to complete the rest of the functionality first however so I can work out the best way to be storing all the information. I also need to think of the best way to compare two builds from a UI perspective, it is definately in my head though If you read the news tab, it outlines most of what I'm working on and ideas I am planning to add.

Very nice site!  Just want we need.  Heck if stardock would have bothered to put a skill tree and items list in teh box (or even a PDF) we wouldn't have all these issues.  But at least we have some that will take the time to help us all.
Nice job.

Props and Karma, but one request.  Can you have the options explain what they do when you mouse over them?  I know it's a bunch more work, but it would really make your fansite the best out there for DemiGod.

If you ever used titancalc for titan quest...it just stored everything in the URL.  ie once you chose a bunch of skills, on the page would be some url text you could copy and stored as a bookmark to load that exact setup.  The url would look something like site.com/titancalc.php?1+0+2+4+5+3+2+1+1...etc and just encoded all of the options.  Maybe you can do something like that.

I am an accountant, have been working 14 hour days for the last couple of months, and deal with spreadsheets all day.  When I see some data that can be analyzed via a fairly nice spreadsheet, I like to quantify it.  A lot of games have people dedicated to putting the data into easily manipulated programs (i.e. excel).  I'm sorry you think it is a waste of time, I guess I would agree but I think you'll learn in life everything, even spreadsheets for some game, are good learning experiences.  I was able to expand on some excel trinks that I've been working on, and that is good enough for me .

Also, nice website.

I already does, it's just broken in Internet Explorer for some reason. If you use Chrome or Firefox or such there should indeed be tooltips that explain everything. Not sure why it doesn't work in IE at the moment, I'm working on fixing it.

Thanks for the idea, but that method doesn't achieve what I want to be able to do, don't worry, I'll get there eventually

Thought I'd also note the site is now accessable via http://demigoddb.com a much easier to remember URL in my opinion

Sorry to be rude, but I've noticed some people searching for this around the internet and wanted to bump it up for those in need.  I haven't made any significant changes in it since it's original version, but it may be useful to some.

Also, the website http://www.demigoddb.com as mentioned in this thread seems to have some updates available for those that enjoy the web based interface over excel.

Enjoy.
