In Supreme Commander and Forged Alliance, you could deactivate the intro movies by putting
From the Demigod/movies folder, move the following files:
dg_amd_logo.bik, dg_gpg_logo.bik, dg_esrb.bik
Well, that works, obviously. However, everytime there is a patch, those files will be downloaded again.
I hope GPG decides to make the movie setting work again.
This hasn't bothed me like it does in most games, because you can click your mouse and it skips the vid. So yeah, I click a few times but at least you can skip it. Some games don't let you and force you to watch the crap every time.
Press escape instead of clicking, it skips all video.
there must be a built in way to do it also because gameranger skips them entirely on its own.
I think Gameranger starts Demigod with some connection command line options, those would skip the movies.
It would be nice to have a built in way to disable intro movies like steam does.
There is a way, using impulse. Open inpulse, click the 'Community' tab near the top left, click on 'Games', in 'filters' near the top select demigod and a list of games will appear after a short time. Those with a 'Waiting' status and no password (yellow padlock icon) can be joined by double clicking or the 'join' button. You can also create a new game using the button near top right. This should take you straight into the lobby of a game with no movies and no further clicking. I'm so glad I found this feature of Impulse!
Now does this this stop the crashing when someone can't connect to you?
Nope, it just makes me end task Demigod that much quicker! I gave up in trying to join any multiplayer games now.
