Quoting LightStar,

 Dumb asses!

Actually, given their achievement thus far, they're not such dumb asses after all.

I don't know that I like the idea of artificial intelligence and/or brains, but to map the brain of a bee is quite an accomplishment, nevertheless.

What I would call dumb ass is attempting to map the brain of a serial killer or some such other psychopath and installing it in some kind of robot.

This actually has huge business potential and makes perfect sense. Unfortunately, bees and other pollinators are dying off while we increase our dependence on them by upping the farming output. But while paying for human hand pollination may be worthwhile in some parts of the world where farm labour is cheap, it is clearly not an option for wealthier countries.

This is just one more type of mechanization that has been going on in farming for hundreds of years.

That said, mapping it off a real brain just seems stupid and inefficient, more a gimmick than anything else. When google built self-driving cars, I doubt they ever even thought about mapping it after a human brain.

Another idea!  Maybe we ought to map the brains of bankers and politicians... though the latter might prove difficult, re: locating said organ.  Anyway, such maps could provide us directions to where the money's hidden.
