No problem with the rule itself , but oftentimes topics from those places bleed out over here and vice versa.

It's a problem with Stardock forums in general, and one I've complained about for years.

Hmm.  No politics.  I think I know a way around that.

Ceasar? Ceasar Millan?

Yeah, definitely Ceasar Millan for president. Perhaps he can instil some calm assertiveness to the world

Not to go OT but today is Weird day for me. All sorts of weirdness is going on. I've been here for three hours and in the WC forums. Up until five minutes ago I'm not so sure. Somehow, I don't know how but somehow I found myself in the Stardock forums and not here. How'd I get there from here? I didn't click on any thing. lol

I want to see him stare down congress wagging his finger and saying, "TSSCHHH!"

or

Saying, "I'll need to take this congressman back to my compound to live with the pack so he can learn to be a good dog."

Bump....

I have today moved two threads to 'Politics', following Frogboy's directive. [refer OP]

Let's ALL get on the same page [or in this case.....same forum location]....

Just a reminder to all....

The 'Architect' of these forums is a very nice chap called Frogboy.  It is his overseeing/direction that has kept Stardock's forums one of the 'nicer' places on the Internet to inter-relate with others.

If, perchance you find a thread 'relocated' to an alternate 'sub-forum' it is for good reason.

It's why these forums are predominantly 'good-places-to-be'...

not arguing however, sort of flies in the face of the "everything" portion of the grouping.

now can we work on getting religion out of the our forums, please?

Not that I would be particularly interested in discussing politics here, but now that it is prohibited, it makes me wonder for the reason behind that decision.

So anyone mind to explain why that was seen a necessary limitation?

What you've just done is saying that Frogboy is a wise guy and thus his decisions must not be questioned.

It is not an actual answer to my question. Or are you trying to tell me that my question is unnecessary because wise decisions don't need an explanation and should be agreed to by anyone without having to know the reason behind them?

I'll venture a quess that the topic almost always results in flamewars and general member animosity.

No, the owner of the forums you are posting in has decreed it, therefore, it is the law of the land, so to speak. The subject/rule is not open to debate as far as I know.

The reason (as I understand it) is simple: To avoid flame wars and animosity. I could be wrong.

There is another Stardock site, Joeuser.com which is designed to let all have their say on political and religious topics. Your sign in should work there as well. Although there is cross posting between certain Forums/sub-Forums, the political stuff is kept there per the owner's wishes. Not unreasonable, in my view.

Different sites have different rules, and if you're really all that interested, feel free to pm him and pursue the topic to your satisfaction.
