So I Walk Into The Store...

By on April 19, 2010 4:05:43 AM from Demigod Forums Demigod Forums

Why can't you find Demigod in the stores anymore?  Why are they pulling it from the shelves?  Thinking it was just a coincidence at the time and giving it the benefit of the doubt that this one store was probably just actually out of copies, I then drove to two more major stores in my area and it was the same story, they no longer carry it.   Now I know you can still buy copies online or download the game electronically, but forget about going into an electronics store and buying your own personal copy.  I think they have yanked em'.   Does the game have that many technical problems that it would cause retailers of outlets to start completely pulling it from their shelves? If that's the case, this will be the first time in history that I have personally ever seen this with a PC game.

Why are they pulling it from the shelves?

They're not. All but the most popular games eventually sell out and get replaced by newer ones on the shelf.

It happens often.  You do realize the game has been out for a year, yes?  And that it wasn't amazingly popular?  And that there is still digital distribution for the remaining sales?  The only games that stay on the shelf for years and years are the ridiculously popular titles (i.e. you can still buy diablo battlechests last time I checked).
