Stupid Question

This is a stupid question but how do I download mods? I went to the site where the mods are and click the download mod link and I get a zip file. Is there any special path I need to enter? Please help.

Zip is an archive and you need something like Winzip to unzip the archive. The paths are probably in there, though not always.
